Multimodality and Materiality in Action - MuMa

Open Forum

How to analyse multimodal (inter)action in material settings? Recently in various research fields there has been a growing awareness of and interest in empirical research that takes into serious analytical account the role of multimodal artefacts, documents, embodied people, gaze, gestures, language, music, objects, places, practices, texts, etc.. In other words, the often abstract and/or vague concept of 'context' is being foregrounded as part and parcel of the ongoing activity.

The MUMA Open Forum has been established as an interdisciplinary meeting place for researchers to conduct data sessions, discuss methodological issues and read interesting literature.
